Hello, i have a 3 month old sulcata, i live in south mississippi where the humidity outside is always at least 80% or higher (way more than i can produce in his enclosure)and the average temp is 70 to 85 during the day and not much cooler at night,,. i have a shaded porch where i would like to build him an enclosure for the porch. the porch gets 1-2 hours of partial sun (enough to shine down on where the enclosure will be) plus i have uvb bulb and che. i am going to plant flowers and build him a hide box that goes in the ground inside the enclosure. i am wanting to know if he could live in that outside the way it will be set up

Temperature range highs and lows, days and nights. If you can ensure it doesn't go below 80 or over 100, and there is always a temperature gradient. Good luck.

No. Not a good option. Babies don't do well outside full time regardless of climate. They need a correct set up with warm stable conditions indoors. They should not live outside full time until they are around 8-10" at least. When that time comes, all you need is a heated night box.

Plus one or two hours of sun is not enough.

Plus they should not drop below 80 at any time.

You need to find more room or make more room indoors. That is what you signed up for when you bought a giant tortoise species. They need a lot of room to roam, and they can't live outside full time when they are babies. Its good to have a large outdoor enclosure to be used during warm weather days, but they still need a big indoor set up for all the cooler days and all the nights. A 40 gallon is the minimum I recommend for starting a tiny baby hatchling, but they outgrow that in two or three months tops.

Do you have a carport?
I am going to build an insulated closed chamber enclosure for my tort in our carport.
