Also, since we now know you hav a star, one of our members has put together a very informative thread for star owners in India, including foods found in India. you can find it pinned at the top of the star section.

That was helpful
But the problem is he doesnt eat that
I know to offer him the food gradually

Dipa, breathe in and breathe out... You are doing what you can. Keep offering your Star good food. You remind me of my children, (and me...). Try to think positive. Down let it get you down. You said it yourself, fight. Stray strong Dipa. Put up some BTS music. Dance if you need to...

My daughter laughed when I told her "We are Army". She knew what you meant.

And he nowadays eats okra

I think it is generally a good idea to mix together at least four different things each time you feed your tortoise, instead of trying him with say, one item at a time and putting it aside if he does not eat it. Because he will either eat it or not at the time you give it to him with nothing else mixed in, and if he does not eat it, you will get worried and this will lead to stress for both of you; and if he gulps it down, you will keep giving it to him so much that he does not want anything else and that will be another problem! Just keep giving him a variety each time you feed him.

He cannot have capsicum (bell pepper). White pumpkin could be a couple of different things; can you post a picture of it?

Okra is a good food in limited amounts. It’s actually a fruit, so not an everyday thing. Is there any chance you can get okra leaves? It’s actually very easy to grow in warm weather so long as it gets watered. We can buy seeds and plants here; don’t know about where you are.

@Dipa I just went through and read this thread. I know you are reading a lot on the forum and trying to learn all you can. I don't see in this thread where it has been mentioned that your tortoise is pyramiding badly. It is quite extreme for this size of a tortoise. I know you read the post I made about "How to Raise a Healthy Star" and commented there, and we have discussed humidity in other threads with you. However, you really need to make a change. I feel one of the reasons your tortoise is a "picky" eater is that it is just getting by and not really thriving. It needs humidity. Your tortoise needs and enclosure where it can stay warm and humid. It needs places it can rest and sleep where it is warm and humid and secure - pushed under an overhanging plant. Or buried beneath some leaf litter.

The pyramiding tells me it is being kept way too dry and that also means that is stressing the tortoise on the inside too. I think you are working on a proper enclosure. Please make that change as soon as possible.

hereis the white pumpkin

Okay, we call that different names; one is Opo, another Is Calabash. It is technically another fruit, like the okra. A little is good but not an everyday food. If you can grow it, all of the leaves, stems, and flowers are very good food and your tortoise will probably like it very much.

@Dipa Do not get too worried over the pyramiding, but use it as an indication you need to make a change. If you change now, the new growth coming in from now on, will smooth out quick on a tortoise this small. The same will be happening with its overall health. You tortoise shows good growth, so its metabolism is working. Any changes you make now should have a great positive effect.

So I would say the pyramiding is a 8. It is quite severe, but again your tortoise is young and growing. That is why I feel a change now will be especially beneficial to this tortoise.

You are doing a great job in you efforts to learn all you can and willingness to find the best for your tortoise. Thank you!!!
