Is this to me? I have to be 100% honest with you, the best thing you can do is follow the links they have on this forum on how to raise a healthy Sulcata. If you're not already using one, I would suggest building a closed chamber. This is my first tortoise I've ever owned, I think the best thing I ever did, was I just got lucky LOL. Literally I soaked him once to twice a day most days to be a perfectly honest just once. I mist his shell down once a day to twice a day. And I tried that shelf saver stuff. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, but there are many people on this forum who raise so many smooth salcatas, I think they could give you better info than I could.

How bad does my tortoises pyramiding looks?
Yeah I’ll buy the shell thing but I think soaking them daily could expose them or make them more prone to upper respiratory infection. Did that happen with you?
What do you mist him with ? Just water ?

Sheldon actually looked worse than that. If you correct your humidity problems now, new growth should come in pretty smooth. Soaking is actually very good for your tortoise, the only way I think you would even have to worry about it getting in RI is if you did it in far too cool of water. I like to keep my water between 90 and 95 degrees. You don't want to go too hot either as this could harm your tortoise. You just don't want to let the water cool off too much, to keep mine warm I keep half of his soaking container underneath his basking light. And yes I just missed him down with warm water. This is a picture of Sheldon the first week I got him back, he was starting the pyramid pretty good too.20171029_200927.jpg

Ps.... you don't need to go very deep when you soak. I usually go up to where the carapace meets the plastron.

Be sure that you’re soaking in 90-100 degree water DAILY. It is absolutely essential for your babies. Use a tall sided, rectangular container, and do it for 20-30 minutes.
