Hello everyone!
I'm a college student right now and my tortoise, turquoise, is living at home with my mom and family. I've been concerned about calcium supplementation - before I left, I bought TNT and since then, that is the only supplement turquoise was getting, there was no cuttlebone available. I realized this when I looked at TNT's website.

I had offered a cuttlebone before but he never showed interest in it. I remodeled his enclosure before I left and did not include the cuttlebone, but I had assumed (wrongly) that TNT provided enough calcium. He is on a diet of romaine lettuce and spring mix, with occasional endive. I've told my family to give him his calcium supplement in addition to his TNT. Should I be worried about anything that could've happened between then and now that would've caused problems with calcium deficiency? Thank you for your advice everyone, it's so very very appreciated!

Howdy Turquoise,
Welcome to the forum. We have an introductions section where you can write up a tread with a proper introduction about yourself. I’m guessing y’all have a russian tortoise? Well up in Bozeman I’m sure you or your family can find some dandelion growing that hasn’t been sprayed with anything as well as other wild, broadleaf weeds to feed your tortoise. Feeding these, while providing the proper lighting with the occasional well alert chaperoned time in the sun will be fine for your tortoise. It’s not just the calcium they need. They need the sun and specific uv to absorbs day utilize the calcium.
LOL. Let your folks know that y’all are also learning chemistry and biology. Keep asking questions. If it makes no sense to you, ask again. We’re pretty patient here and we don’t push folks around none. ; )

Hahah I'll definitely let them know about the extra knowledge I'm gaining! Yes he is a Russian tortoise, we've had him for about 12 years, I was just worried about the calcium intake? Do you guys he's been ok without for a little while? I'll definitely look for some dandelions and other weeds this upcoming spring though!
