my thought is I've used rimadyl hundreds of times more than you , personally know folks who have prescribed it tens of thousands of times more than you have seen it ..... I have a dog right now 7yrs , would be dead at 5 without it , she could not have been rehabbed without it .... my veterinary experiences and yours i'm sure are quite different , as is our dog experience ..........

I did not know that this was a "mine is bigger than yours" issue....I would have loaded my canon with a much bigger load....In my opinion, the garbage you are spewing is harmful...

Hey guys thanks for all of your replies.
I will always do what’s best for him. I will take a closer look at the website.
I lost my last dog (a boxer) at 9 years old, to cancer, it was terribly sad. And just last year I had my 20 year old cat put to sleep as he quality of life was suffering and she had developed a metabolic problem, it’s terribly sad losing a pet. I always swear I won’t get another because of the heartache, but I always do.
Iggy has 2 more days if steroids left and I haven’t seen a major change with the head tilt but we are going back to the vets next week so I will let you know what she says. He’s still himself, yapping constantly at anything that moves! And attaching the post as it comes through the door. I’ve cut the walks out for now and I’ll see how he goes over the next few weeks.

Regardless of what path you and your friend travel, I wish you both a fun and peaceful journey. I apologize for participating in derailing your thread a moment and hope you accept my apology. I won't do it any further. :)

you'll need to get a cannon first .................. rimadyl is about 2 bucks a pill , 150 lb dog can take 3 a day , 6 bucks a day , 180 bucks a month , rainbow bridge is a lot cheaper ;)

I have a 12 year old chihuahua who had a heart murmur since birth. She has now had heart disease for the past 4 years, which will progressively become worse. She sees a cardiologist twice a year. We have gradually added on medications as conditions change and she is now on 10 medications, twice a day. I would never think twice to try something that could prolong her life as long as she’s still happy and active (well as active as a 3 pound lap dog can be lol). I also have a 14 year old chihuahua who just developed a murmur two years ago. She’s not on any medication and she can run circles around my other two even though she’s the oldest.
This doesn’t necessarily mean this is the end.
I feel as an owner you will know when it’s time. Until then, make your pup comfortable and enjoy your time together!
