meet Marvin

say hello to Marvin.
he came home to us yesterday.
i lost my beardy a few weeks back and i've had a hole in my life since. didn't want to replace Stumpy, so decided to get something i've desired for a while now.
read LOTS of info before taking the final plunge.
hope to get involved in chsts as the times go by, and will probably be asking for advice too.
ps... i'm Sime. ayup.

hello Yvonne, he is a Horsefield (seem to be called Russians here) i THINK he is approx 6 months. and sorry, typo, should say chats.

Hi Sime, Happy Birthday and welcome to you and Marvin - he's lovely!
I'm in the UK too.
Don't buy expensive equipment until you have checked on the forum - could save you a lot of money and will make sure you have the safest kit.

thank you, but i'll confess, as with most things that come through the door, it is taken from The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. it WAS going to be Zarniwoop, but as soon as i saw his face he was Marvin.

I love the name Marvin, my Russian tortoise is named Walter. I would say you made a great decision for getting a tortoise!

thanks, i had a look all over and this is the only place where any information/advice seems to be consitant between the users, and if they do have an issue, or even constructive criticism, it is in the interest of the tortoise.
and not seen any nastiness or name calling. which is a pleasant change.
