Please help (took a bite of rotten food)

Ok so i was cleaning out flashes tank and while i did that i replaced his food bowl and i threw away the old food from the last day or 2 and in his food bowl i found rotted cucumber it was so old it was yellow and it had a horrible smell and it look like it had bite marks on it and i threw it away. He has been basking all day and im worried that it might have made him sick and i hope its not a big deal should i be concerned? I dont ever feed him old or rotted food this was just a mistake please help. also he is a russian.

In the wild you better believe they eat some rotten food from time to time. Basically while obviously yes it could make him sick he is probably just fine. Food should be removed daily to avoid this but a bite or two is no reason for alarm.

It probably won't hurt him. Maybe feel just a bit blah.
I wouldn't make it a habit to not take the dish out and wash it off every day. They do eat bugs, poop, dead animals in the wild when they opportunity presents itself and there is nothing better. In captivity they have no choice but to eat what we give them or don't clean away.
Just keep an eye on him for a day or two. Likly it's just one of those lazier days.

YEEEEEES my redfoot is nasty. He’ll leave his breakfast to wilt and eat it for dinner after it’s funky and soggy. I only clear food once a day for this reason. And over ripe fruit???? He’s in heaven!
Redfoot are jungle/forest floor vacuums.
