was such a good time...NOT! Went to a new dentist (I'm terrified of all dentists, especially ones I've not seen before!) Then, had my first ever root canal! Then found out all the work I need is going to run to $3000.! I knew I needed stuff done, but sheesh! $3000??

Hating the dentist and then presented with a $3000 bill - YIPES!! I don't mind the dentist so much. He's a cowboy and sort of good lookin'. It's what he does to the teeth in my mouth that I hate! I've had a few root canals. Not fun, but you get over it quickly

No insurance?

Gosh, I wouldn't mind a good lookin' cowboy! This guy was way too young, maybe 40, and Chinese. But he was REALLY nice, and gentle! I told him right away I was terrified of him.
And Medicare + Medigap policy = no dental insurance. But it pays all of everything else...drs, hospital etc.

I'm not fond of dentist either. Root canals are a breeze though. I gag easy so that's the part I hate the most, the worry of gagging and then choking to death.

Yes, I had so much hardware in my mouth that I couldn't swallow. Scary! Now I only have to survive 2 crowns, 4 fillings, and "periodontal scaling and root planing" on all my teeth. Easy peasy! [emoji26]

Oh man, I feel for you. That doesn't sound easy peasy, specially the scaling and root planing. Not sure what that consist of but don't sound fun at all.
So sorry.

Thanks for the sympathy! I think I've had that done before. The gums were cut, then the roots of the teeth were scraped free of plaque, then gums stitched up. I'll let you know in a week or so if my memory is correct. But you are definitely correct...not fun after the Novacaine wears off!

Lol I can feel your pain..
I've been dealing with infected gums this week. Finally the antibiotics kicked in today. I am lucky, I have dental insurance which helps a little.

That's why i opted for Medicare supplement instead of Medigap.
