Hi.

I've recently had a conservatory built on my house.
I have 3 baby leopards all about 18 months old.
Tiny is 120g, Dennis is 220g and Flash is 369g.
I live in the UK.
The conservatory will he heated during the night so won't drop too cold.
But I wondered if it could be too hot for them during the day ..?
Appreciate any advice.

This is tiny. [emoji3]

Thanks

Hey Gracieheart, welcome.

I notice your in the U.K. there is a bag of salad that you can buy from all supermarkets called crispy salad
IMG_1529263802.406927.jpg

This is much better for them.
It contains radicchio, frisse and lambs lettuce. Most of the other bags contain spinach and stuff like that which is ok on occasion. I also buy Romaine hearts and occasionally some Kale. I notice you have romaine already.

Have you checked out Shelled Warriors shop on eBay. They sell grow at home weed seeds, for about £2 I’m growing containers full of them, they grow so quick and are so much better for your tortoises.

It looks like they’re way too small to be outdoors 24/7. They need to be housed indoors, and only be taken outside a few hours a day. A good rule of thumb is 1 hour per inch of shell.

Like Daniellenc said, things definitely need to be changed. Please read all of these-

I don't think most of us over here know what a conservatory is. Can you describe it?

And only your thermometer can answer your questions. Does it stay above 80 day and night? Does it stay between 80 and 90 during the day?

Hey Tom a conservatory is a room people have built on to the back of their house, quite often they are made from UPVC and glass so they end up like a greenhouse, really hot. Some can be half brick and glass.
Depending how you have them built they can have glass roofs too.

Oh, whoops. I thought they were like a balcony, lol

Lol i love the American/English conversions for things. My son watches so many YouTube videos for things like Fortnite etc and the gamers are often American. He’s always telling me the American word for different things.

Lol! I’m currently in London on vacation, and I still don’t know what a “dry riser” is [emoji23]. Is it like a fire extinguisher or something?

I like how there doesn't seem to be a difference between floor and ground in England. Everything is floor? For those English folks....floor is only used if there is a roof. Everything else(outside) is the ground. There are very few exceptions. I caught Rick on "the walking dead" say floor outside twice now... LOL.

Lol, at least the weather is good! I’m in London working tomorrow. Where are you visiting?

Dry riser is a pipe that the fire brigade use for multi level buildings. It’s an empty pipe and they connect into it and pump water into it.

Well I’m in France now(just took the train, lol), but we visited the Stonehenge, Bath, watched the changing of the guards, the British museum, natural history museum, science museum, the Tower of London, Tower bridge, and The Hard Rock Cafe’s Vault. In that order. It was really cool!

My family just COULD NOT figure out what a dry riser was, lol. Thanks!

Glad to know I am not the only one with a Fort Nite child!! We Are in Wisconsin and that is one of my daughters favorite games! So your conservatory is what we would call a all seasons room or a sun room!

Thank you for the tip. I do feed them weeds,. Their fav is dandelion leaves. I have grown some weeds too that I got from a website. Specifically for tortoices which they enjoy. But I'll def check out the ebay site. Thanks for the tip.

Their weights are always increasing steadily.. they were brought separately, months apart from same breeder but he tells me their same age. I doubt it.

Ting has always been small .. 37g when I got him. Now 135g so I think he's doing ok.

Thanks for your help.

They do not live outside. I put them out for a few hours at the moment as were having an awesome summer. 35 degrees etc. They love eating the grass and weeds etc out there.
