Hi guys, I'm fairly new here so I apologise if this is in the wrong place. My 1yr old Russian tort used to love eating, I would feed him alternations between organic spring mix, radicchio, dandelion, wild rose petals, and green chard. I take him out for sunlight for about 2-3 hours a day as my outdoor enclosure is not finished yet. I sprinkle "zoo-med repti calcium with vitamin D3" on his meals every few days as instructed.

However recently, he refuses to eat any of his usual foods (the ones I outlined above). When I take him outside he still tries to eat random stuff like pine cones and maple leaves and weird fuzzy flowers (all of which i pull away, and clear out as best as I can). He also took to trying to eat pebbles which I swapped out with cuddle-fish bone (which i crushed into pebble-like shapes) he loves eating those.

Either way, he only tries to eat cuddle-fish bones, things that are bad for him, and sometimes pumpkin. None of his usual stuff, I have been trying to feed him his regular stuff for the past 2 weeks now to no success so I'm desperately turning to anyone here that may have advice. Any advice helps :):tort:

thankyou

Try other weeds, mazuri, and new greens. You can chop it up and mix it so it’s harder to pick through. Is he pooping normal and otherwise active? If so just keep offering the foods.

Thankyou very much for the advice I'll try new foods like that then. It's hard to find many weeds and such here in the city, yes he poops normal for the amount he's been eating recently and he's pretty active

If he is trying to eat rocks he may have a mineral deficiency. You might try some Miner-All supplement.
