He is a Herman tortoise and he is 6years old.

He is very cheesy and active. He lives inside and has the downstairs to roam, his house is in the kitchen with his lamp to bask Under, soil to dig around and a place to sleep.

He is very spoilt and has a fab relationship with Chester my dog.

Xx

Welcome to the Forum!

Just so you're aware, I'm going to relate a story for you to read about tortoises and dogs:

Mildred, a desert tortoise, lived with an older couple for several years. Then the couple got a labrador pup. The pup got along fine with Mildred in the backyard for about 15 years. Then one summer the older couple went away for a week on vacation and during that time their son came over to water plants and feed animals. When the couple returned from vacation, they found that the dog had chewed off one of Mildred's front legs, clear up to the shoulder.

Welcome! It seems that there are a lot of things wrong with your care that need to change.

-your tortoise should never be roaming the house, and should never be anywhere close to your dogs.

-it seems that your tortoise is being kept on pellets. You need coco coir, peat moss, orchid bark, or cypress mulch. It has to be damp.

-your tortoise needs an 8x4, secure enclosure that it can be in at all times.

Please give these a read and come back with questions(Russian care is the same as hermanns)-

Hi Katie, I mean you no disrespect with the question I'm about to ask. I saw your first post today was about your tortoise trying to eat your furniture. And now this one with a picture of a tortoise on rabbit pellets, and stating he is best friends with your dog. These are all tortoise keeper no no's. So once again forgive me for asking, are you trying to have a little fun with us?

One: that’s an and old picture and he now lives in the appropriate soil,

Two: he isn’t best friends with the dog your looking too much into it.

Three: the dog is never left on his own with Marlon, I wouldn’t hurt a innocent animal.

One: I I'm not a mind reader and did not know that was an old picture. Was only going by what was presented.

Two: you said he had a fabulous relationship with your dog. I have fabulous relationship with my best friend. Sorry if I misinterpreted fabulous with best friend. Pretty sure you could see where I was going with that though.

Three: it's not my place to tell you what you can and cannot do. I was merely offering advice, you'd be surprised how many tortoises are attacked by dogs while under close adult supervision. I hate seeing any tortoise end up looking like one of my dogs raw hides.

Four: I hope you have a nice weekend.
