Just thought I would say hi.
Me and my partner are from the UK and new to tortoise keeping.
We have just purchased our first tortoises, two redfoot babies, Moss and Bailey.
Made a enclosure from instructions on the forum.
Some great info on here , looking forward to learning.

Hi Murran and welcome.
You'll find lots of great help here - there are plenty of redfoot keepers to give you good advice and probably a care sheet in the species section to tell you about diet, temps, humidity, correct lamps and substrate etc, The Beginners Mistakes thread is also a good way to avoid making the same mistakes as others and the Enclosures thread will have lots of great ideas. You'll also find www.thetortoisetable.org a useful guide to tort safe foods.
If you post a pic of your enclosure members can suggest ways to improve it if necessary.
Sadly it isn't recommended to keep pairs of torts in small enclosed spaces as one will eventually try to dominate the other as they grow and can cause stress and injury to the one on the receiving end. Some species are worse than others and maybe a red foot keeper will be able to tell you more, but torts are generally solitary creatures and don't like competition. That isn't something pet shops or breeders mention as they make more money for two but you will probably have to separate them eventually. Apparently groups of torts works better but only in big spaces where they can avoid each other. If you search for pairs of torts you'll find threads from people who learned the hard way.

Thank you for the welcome and advice. I was led to believe redfoots are ok in pairs.
I'll have to get a few pics up on here for advice.
Thank you again for the advice.

Which part of Lancashire are you in Murran?
Anywhere near Leyland, Chorley or Preston?
