So sorry for your loss Adam and I completely feel for you! While we try to give our turtles the best home and care possible, unfortunately unexplainable things just happen. Last year I was devastated to find my new almost 3 year old tan phased Gulf Coast got herself
stuck under a rock in the enclosure water tub. I found it dead within a couple hours. The day before, it was eating bsf larvae like a champ and a day later it was gone.....I truly am sorry for your loss.

Oh, how sad! I’m so sorry to hear that, but glad you guys share those sad stories nonetheless for the rest of us benefit of learning how to be more proactive in those situations where prevention is possible

Kyle

Thanks! The bold ones beg and follow you around. I was just starting to drain the pond for some maint and I think he was very curious as to what was going on.

Great looking enclosure and any turtle would be happy to live there and be pampered. Sorry to hear/read of the loss earlier this year... :-( it’s hard I’m sure.

Thanks for the compliment and kind words. It's appreciated.

Tort porn spotted! Mods????

That's a righteous enclosure. Any babies yet?

Sorry for the late reply. Got a new phone a couple weeks ago and have not signed into the email associated with this forum, so not getting notifications.

I have seen them digging nests and laying eggs, but I do not retrieve eggs. One day I'll get around to it...

What up Adam? Hope all is well and the new enclosure looks great! Did you ever find some more 3 toeds?

Sorry. I read this back when and never replied.

I did find several females. Some are very nice looking. One looks like it's been through hell, but she's big and heavy.

This is the most striking one...

Sadly these lilies are destroyed. The young N Red Bellieds in the pond this spring/summer discovered they like them as a food source

Looks great. Do the red bellies and the box turtles seem to leave each other alone?

No interaction, even though the Box turtles are in and out of the pond all day. Red bellieds typically stay in the water, but they do some exploring on land. Once found one buried under a log with 5 or 6 boxies. I thought that was weird. The cooters were born last year, and this is not their permanent home. Just wanted them outside.

Just a few pics from today. Quite a few green frogs have moved in and laid a couple hundred eggs. Almost tadpoles now.

Chimpmunks have also moved in. Or at least are using the pen for a food source. Does anyone know if I could use yard sentinel against such a small critter? I wouldn't mind if they were cleaning up rotting food, but they're dragging fresh egg, fruits and other items out.

Your pond looks like it's always been there. No ideas for chipmunks. They (and squirrels) can be such punks in the garden.

Thanks everyone.

I like the idea of trying to feed these chimpmunks, but I'm afraid that may attract even more critters. I may just have to deal with them. Maybe a fake owl statue? There's a pack that lives under my patio and gets in my garage. Then another family that's right in the woods. I've seen them 40 feet up a tree.
