Ants in our pants

Hello everyone. I am new to this .I have been raising my 6 year and a half old sully's inside on a large tortoise table...well I moved them to a wonderful huge outdoor set up ....lots of natural grass and plenty room to roam ....well problems are ....ants are everywhere especially when its mauzri time ......any ideas ....I live in the central valley in California .....

I've never tried one outdoors, but you could research "sonic ant repellent". They work great indoors.

Several large water dishes and they have sprinklers that come on every 2 hrs.for 2 mins...last thing I want is them being dehydrated.....thank you for the welcoming...going to check the link for the ants now ....thank u again.

I dont no the type of ant ....but there are 3 differant kinds out there....some very small and black (this one has never bite me)..small red they bite but this one doesn't seem to swarm up ....last Is the bigger red ones ...this one bites and seems to swarm to activity...

12 babies ...2 1/2 months old......that's my second generation.....1st gen is almost 15 months ...there are 4 of them ....anywhere from 1700 to 2500 grams ....and 2 more that I rescued that were in bad shape they are also 15 months but due to previous owner they are way smaller ....but in the 4 months I have them they go from 200 grams to well now they are almost 700 ....big improved .....and yes b4 u ask I no what kknd of responsibility I have and I also live on 5 acres that will be for my tortoise family ....

For the red ants, I make a little indentation in the top of their mound so that I can pour ant poison into the nest. I pour very slowly so the liquid goes down into the nest. Then I cover the spot with a piece of plywood and put a heavy cinderblock on the plywood. I also spray poison all around outside the tortoise fence.

In the tortoise house, I have a little shelf the tortoises can't reach and I place Terro liquid ant bait on the shelf.
