Looks very well taken care of.

~ Thank you, he was a rescue about three years ago, lived in a ten gallon fish take and was given up by the previous keepers for professional career opportunists that involved moving to a state that was not conducive to keeping tortoises. He was just about 3" and basically all the darker brown growth was new. We kept in an outside pen for a few months and made sure he was healthy and growing. He was then released into a larger area and left to feed on his own on natural grass, weeds and cactus. He was fed a small amount of Mazuri and fruit when we fed our other population these treats.

Poor thing tearing up that cactus like he's starving to death! I've not witnessed such behavior since watching my son eat when he was a teenager.

:D

~ He is a vigorous and vivacious eater for sure, he comes out in the morning with the sun and eats for a few hours and then goes back into the bushes and sleeps. When the sun starts to go down (about 4pmish) he comes back out and starts eating again until dawn. He must walk a mile a day, he will usually just walk and pick when he is eating, rarely does he sit and just eat.
