So when I first got my Russian Tortoise he was really friendly and enjoyed being handled. I could hand feed him pet his shell and easily soak him without hi getting stressed. Now I can't even reach my hand in his enclosure without him hissing and retreating into his shell, he refuses to be hand feed. He started pooping every time I try and bring him down to his outdoor enclosure so now I bring him down in a shoe box.
Did I do something wrong??
Is there something I can do to help him become more social again?

Did someone else handle and drop him or possibly do something to him they shouldn't have?
If not he may just be in a mood. Use the box and move him slower, move around him slower and try to feed him is favorites. He will probably come around.

Could it be days are getting shorter ? Is night time temps getting cooler along with day time temps ? Is your tort eating less ?
