Hello! I’m back and I’m going to get a new sulcata from Arizona Sulcata which does soak their hatchlings every day and is close enough to pick one up. I’m making the enclosure closed with plastic sheeting as reccommended so I get their full year health guarantee.

On the bottom of Torpedo’s she’ll there are these weird circles that are kind of hard to see but I noticed them during his soak

I’ve seen those before and I don’t think they are harmful at all I think it could just have something to do with growth but let’s ask others

@Djkitten76 do a forum search for "white squiggly lines". We've discussed these many times. Short version: No one knows for sure what it is, but its normal and not harmful.

They Are completely normal. No explanation for them. There are many many posts both on TFO and online about them and they are harmless and eventually disappear.

image.jpg image.jpg Hi! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted but I have made Torpedo a new enclosure.
Features:
Now a 48 from side to side round pool.
Now 2 heat lamps, 1 basking and 1 CHE
More/deeper substrate for digging and adventuring.
The new basking light puts out UVA (I have another main 24” long for ubv) I’ve heat UVA is what allows plants to grow, so I’ll fence off an are for that.
Details:
This is still indoor and has a fable on the bottom.Currently there is no ceiling, tomorrow I will add the plastic sheeting.
Questions(I’m asking them)
1. At night there are still lights on in the same room, will this confuse him wether it is night or day?
2. It seems at night he wanders away from the CHE and I am wondering if this is normal?(his shell seems cold to me)
3. If the answer to 2 is that it is too cold, what is a good way to heat the entire enclosure while still having it be dark at night?(without more that 1 CHE)
Probably more questions to come but for now here are pictures(I’m putting the plastic sheeting in tomorrow for a closed chamber)

If you're wondering about the temp you could use an infared thermometer. As long as it's over 80 it should be fine. I'm interested in the answer to question 1 as well. Nice enclosure I hope you post some pics of Torpedo too

That's a nice size enclosure. Once you get it covered, you'll need to wet down that substrate, but make sure it is warm enough all over the enclosure before you do so. With such a large enclosure, one CHE won't be enough. If you can't provide more heat, maybe you can block off part of the enclosure at night so he stays in the warm part. You could look into getting a radiant heat panel as it is something you can use later when he is older and moved outdoors.
