Haven’t had my baby tort long. May sound mad but is it normally to visibly see him breathe, quick ish? And head bobbing quite a bit. Crazy I know but rather he was okay. Thanks
Aww thank u that’s very kind of u. He’s now actually on lights out and sleeping ha. I just wanted to know as I didn’t know of rapid breathing was a problem or anythingI think it is. When I first got mine, I remember seeing them do that often... I believe they might have been a bit nervous at the time. Not so much anymore.... we would love to see pics though and I bet someone with more experience here can give you a better explanation.
Hello & welcome!
Hopefully a moderator will see this and separate it into its own thread. @Yvonne GHello, not super sure how to use this so just gonna type it somewhere and hope it helps. We’ve just bought home 2 baby Herman’s, they’re tiny and only hatched in August!! We’ve got a 100 lamp, a tortoise table with substrate, a shallow water dish and food dish, the first day they explored a little and ate a fair bit, that was Saturday. Since then, we’ve barely seen them, they’ve not eaten much at all and they seem to be sleeping almost constantly! We got them from a breeder who my partner works with who said our set up was fine, that they barely eat anything this young and they also sleep loads but I just want to check that this is normal!! My mum and dad have a 56 year old Herman, Fred who is super chill and just wanders round the garden, but behind responsible for these tiny tiny babies is so scary!! Do you think they’re okay?
