Greetings..

Ive had very good luck with any/all brands that say 100% cypress. The problem i have now is that just yesterday, our closest HD no longer has any and says it’s “seasonal” and they won’t be getting more :-( So, now I’ll trek over to Lowes, they apparently have some per their inventory.

Disclaimer, i used it for substrate for our Sully these past 4 years with no issues.

Good luck!

I just picked up three bags of Cypress mulch from our Lowes...Not many left since it’s a “seasonal” item - our HD has none left.

Good luck,

also how often do you change it out? i do every month but i feel like thats kind of a wast be cause Pebbles barely uses half his substrate since he in 1 inch long and his enclosure is 5 feet long i just feel it is a big wast throwing it out every month.

No need to throw it all out at all. I would spot clean around the food and watering dish, add new stuff in, take handfulls of the older mulch out. But i never removed it all at once, there’s really no need to.

Count your lucky stars that you can find it at all. I checked lowes, Home Depot and all the nurseries around with no luck. Finally an employee at a nursery told me the reason I couldn't find it is because it's not environmentally sustainable. I guess the cypress tree numbers are plummeting and here in Portland people are SO sensitive to these things. Recently everyone was up in arms about straws and now we are all sipping our cocktails out of cardboard straws.
