Hi

My name is Ben and I am a new owner of two young (possibly female) Turkish spur thigh tortoises. They are doing well and this forum looks very supportive and I will definitely come here for any concerns.

Thank you

Ben

Yes they are, they are related
Tortoises are territorial and, regardless of gender or relationship, they only see another tort as rival for food and territory. They don't get lonely and don't want company. They don't do well kept as a pair in captivity as one is always dominant and the other becomes withdrawn, ultimately becoming very sick indeed. They shouldn't be kept as a pair and sooner or later you will need to keep them entirely separately.
