Trying to id this tortoise

Looks like a sulcata that needs some soaking in warm water and some good care. If you keep him, he needs to be in a closed chamber you can find the thread on it in the sulcata section along with its caresheet.
Otherwise at least give it a nice warm soak and keep him warm, 80 day and night with a basking of 95-100 and humidity of 80% while finding his owners.

Yep, we never get to experience a random tortoise in our yards. Not even a box turtle.
Although, my son and his friend once found a Russian walking down the road at our old place that had escaped. Luckily they found him. It was a very busy street by Wrigleyville. We found the owners the same day looking for him.

Here in Texas there are constantly tortoises trying to ‘cross the road’
