I have 3 baby sulcatas and I feed them mixes of dandelion greens, escarole, endive, watercress, radicchio, mazuri, collard greens, optunia cactus pads and wheatgrass. I chop it into bite size pieces for them. I put it in a 4" clay saucer enough to barely fill it. They hardly touch it. No where near eat all of it. I have them in a 8x4 enclosure on cypress mulch. Ambient temp of 85 and the humidity is at 90% during the day and goes up to 97% at night. I soak them in warm water daily for 30 minutes. I just dont get why they hardly eat

Very nice enclosure.. a couple more questions though.. where did you get them and did you find out how they were caring for them? Do you know how old they are? Do you weigh them regularly? Do they poop regularly? Are they active?

Since mid Oct

What did the breeder feed them and usually they when they don't eat it's because the temps are low. Is the floor temps reading the same as your hygrometer/thermometer?

I got the 2 normal ones from underground reptiles and the Sudanese from ATA where Dean got his babies. Yes the floor temps read the same with my temp gun

They said they soaked them daily and all that but you never know. They do poop regularly are so so active. They are all about 3 months old

ATA has really good reviews from this forum, but underground doesn't. @ZEROPILOT could give you more info on underground reptiles. @Tom @Yvonne maybe able to help you better.

Riann at Underground reptiles doesn't provide adequate care.
ALL of his babies are kept on rabbit pellets.
While he is very knowledgeable. I'm comfortable saying that he doesnt care much about the animals welfare. They're on display to be sold.
Im not particularly comfortable talking crap about someone who has "helped" me in the past 30 years and has been a friend. But he should stop selling tortoises.
He's a middleman. People sell him tortoises and he sells them to you. I suppose if you bought one that wasnt there long. It would be best.

It does sound like your doing everything correctly. With new babies, hatchling failure syndrome is always a worry if they were dry started... but you don’t think that’s the case so you may be worrying needlessly. If they are active and eyes look alert, pooping, etc.... your probably good. I would suggest (and I’m no expert) that you weigh them weekly. If they are gaining weight (even a gram) consistently then they are progressing. Offer them some different types of greens and maybe you can spark their appetite?

Same problem here. I gived good care since 30g and now my sully barely eats at 114g. I tried raising temps without much difference...

try giving it something else. I noticed that my baby (who LOVED hibiscus leaves, like, HE WOULDN'T EAT ANYTHING ELSE. LIKE SHOOT! MY PROFILE PICTURE IS A PIC OF HIM EATING HIBISCUS LEAVES :D:rolleyes:) slowly got sick of it. Like when you eat unhealthy, then suddenly want to eat healthy again. So I transitioned him out of hibiscus leaves. and let him try other things. What I did was I took him outside, and put all of the food that I wanted him to eat in a line, and he started trying new things. After that, I could tell that he wasn't satisfied with just one thing in his diet (because I thought he wasn't going to eat it) So I give him some chopped up cactus pads, dandelion greens, dandelions, some garden weeds and I sprinkle grass on top.

(MORAL OF THE STORY: CHANGE HIS DIET UP. IT WORKS GOOD! SOMETIMES. YOU SEEM TO HAVE A NICE ENCLOSURE ALREADY AND ARE GIVING IT WHAT IT NEEDS SO MAYBE THAT WILL WORK :))

A lot of the times the breeders don't feed them a variety of weeds, grasses, etc. And feed them one or two things. So, that puts a difficult task upon the owner to get the tort to eat line it's supposed to. Your diet looks good. I would add some grasses in there and maybe throw a pellet or two of tortoise chow in there. Like @EllieMay said if they are pooping, eyes bright, temps are good, and doing tortoise stuff then I would just keep feeding them a variety and weigh them. If they are pooping normally they are eating.
