I'm the quiet type. Really bad. So be prepared to take control of the conversation if you ever get a chance to meet me!
I feel like I am too. All the members I have met were so easy to talk too. Having the tortoises and this forum in common makes it easy to hold a conversation.

There are a TON of keepers here in Florida.
The farthest I've gone was Fort Meyers. About a 2 hour drive to meet @StacieJ half way.
@CharlieM was less than an hour to meet up with him.
@Pearly drove from Texas to my home.
@Slow and steady, @mfishmanm ,etc. All came to me.
7 in all so far. (I cant recall the TFO names of the other two)
I look forward to meeting many more.
That's amazing! I could probably meet some here in Indiana and go to Ohio to meet others. I think that would be a nice little get away one weekend and meet some wonderful people.

Or we could all just move to one big place and I could play and ride tortoises all day every day. :)

It would be so fun to meet some TFO members! If any of you are ever in Portland I'd love to have you over at my place. In the summer when the torts are outside I even have a guest bedroom. Tortoise lovers welcome!

Wish I were still driving truck...

@ZEROPILOT Believe me, I'm keeping that in mind for future trips to South Florida. Work takes me to Broward and Palm Beach from time to time.

I think it also helps that you and the members you meet already have a good sense of each other's personalities, so the conversation probably flows more naturally than meeting a stranger.

Well, I've met @orv and his wife Nancy. We spent a great day together.

And I met @Carlene's ET at a CTTC meeting, told her about the forum and she joined...does that count?

I almost met @ascott, but her work got in the way...what a drag!

And I nearly dropped in on @Tom, but didn't...mostly because he was in Atlanta!

I'm always up for a meet 'n greet!

I am soooo sorry, such a loser here...yes, it is because of work and I will be up and ready to plan a meet up with trees, soooon.... :)

I got to meet @wccmog10 and his super awesome wife this weekend! Got to go hunting with their Harris hawk, searching for kestrels, and talk birds and reptiles for hours. It was awesome. Hope to see them and spend more days hanging out doing falconry and reptile stuff on future trips,

Another friendship hatched as a result of this forum.

We really enjoyed meeting you @Tom in person as well, and I’m looking forward to next time. It’s always great to make new reptile/falconry friends. This forum has been great. I wish I had found it years ago. Now we will just have to make a trip to California some day! I hear you have rabbits that are actually catchable :)

-Wade

PS- for those of you that are not falconers, the rabbits in Georgia hide in some of the nastiest briars you could ever imagine. And it’s hard to find good rabbit hunting locations, but apparently in California rabbits are the only thing @Tom hunts!
