Feeding full until tort is done

One thing I noticed that when my guy gets too much food and eats until he is full he is less active and lazy and just sleeps but when I give him less food he will walk all around and be hyper active... What do you guys do? Alot of food or just small quantities?

I let them graze as much as they want on the correct foods.

I hand feed Oli. When he has had enough he stops eating and turns his back to me immediately. His appetite depends on the weather. In Summer he has more appetite.

I sometimes fall asleep after a big meal myself, nothing wrong with that.

I let my tortoise eat all she wants in her large enclosure. Sometimes she's ravenous all day, no matter how much she eats; other times she sleeps half the day.
