I have a juvenile red foot in a large Rubbermaid tub right now, but I wanted to give him one big upgrade so I don't have to slowly upgrade him every year. He'll get a bigger space in a few years, but this should definitely cover it for a while!

It's 5x6 ft. This is just the middle of the project, and I forgot to take early stage pictures, but I think all we have to do is put up the sides, fill the enclosure with good stuff, and figure out the lid situation! Screenshot_20181216-193048.png

The sides look very low for enough substrate. It might just look low in the pic though.

You can buy these separately from the garden bed itself. This is one solution, the other solution would be acrylic or glass cover with gaskets or seals or you could make it like a vivarium where you slide the glass open and closed along rails ultimately it's up to you.Screenshot_20181216-203139_Amazon%20Shopping.jpeg

Update: we've got the base all set up, and today's move-in day for the little dude while we get some mulch, moss, and plants for the inside, and cover the top and set up the lights.

I thought surely he wouldn't even notice the other half of the enclosure until he was bigger in a couple years, but he's been zippin around all morning! I think he likes it, but who knows. Now I feel bad that he was in a tub 1/4th of this size!

This is the finished product! No plants yet, those are hard to find in the middle of a Missouri winter. It's not a very flashy setup, but it's functional, right?

I put a divider down the middle and am using the other half of the enclosure for my laundry baskets, this bad boy took up the entire rest of my small room. He'll get the full 5x6 experience when we move in a few months.

Any comments or concerns are super welcome!!

Please buy this it makes the heat more evenly dispersed instead of concentrated; only the reflector no need for the clamp or socket.woods-clip-suction-lights-166-64_400_compressed.jpeg

Also if your current lamp wire has a switch on it then just swap the wires unless there is a noticeable guage difference which there shouldn't be. The process is quite simple but if you need instructions feel free to PM me.
