He started getting sleepy probably mid/end of November and has been getting sleepier and sleepier since.

No news from the vet yet. She said it would take a few days to a week to get results from his fecal sample.

He is eating again this morning!

I've been keeping his substrate moist and I'm not sure if that's what is helping, or if he is just waking up now. But he is definitely much more awake and alert! Hoping this keeps up.

He has barely slept at all today! Just naps here and there. He has made like 8 trips to go eat, and while he doesn't eat much each time, it adds up.

I am so happy to see him active again. I hope this keeps up.

Great news!

What did you do to get him out of brumation?

I'm not really sure what triggered it. Maybe just the ordeal of going to the vet woke him up.

The vet also had me moisten his substrate because it was so dry it was bothering his eyes. She gave me some eye drops for him. I moistened it that night, started his eye drops, and by the next day he was already improved.

So some combination of these things got him back to his normal happy self!

I'm still waiting on results from his fecal sample. At this point I'm not really worried about that too much. But I should have them by tomorrow.

He is eating with such vigor! I'm amazed at his transformation. He is so alert and hungry now!!! Lol

Gave him a good soak today, pooped a whole bunch. His poop is much more firm now. He has been getting a lot of escarole and dandelion greens lately.

Weighed him after his soak and he's gained back 10 grams!

Can't get any better. Seems he was just brumating.

Mine is still brumating, but I'm gonna soak him daily after work to bump him up. After his soak last night, he finally ate a bit of his veggies on his own when I put it down, ofcourse going back to his hide quick after. But it is a good sign.

And now I will know what to expect in future winters as well. Brumation is scary for first time tort owners lol.

Glad yours is starting to wake up as well!

Thanks again for everyone's help and kind words!
