So everytime I clean out the water dish and place it back into the enclosure, my naughty little sully just loves to burrow next to it and filling it with the coir and bark. Well at least this proves its active and healthy. IMG_20190116_102716.jpeg

Yes they can be little turds that way. However, I'm more concerned with your enclosure. I can tell it's way too small even for a hatchling. It's also way to dry without enough humidity which should be 80% and it's probably not a closed chamber and the water dish is too small.
Please read the caresheets and closed chamber threads and make much needed improvements.

Yep my tort does the same. I soak Opo every day and almost ready to give up on the water dish. But Opo will be outside for good in a month or 2 so I will clean up after the stubborn brat!LOL

It's a closed chamber, I opened up the top cover just to take the pic. I'm looking for the terra plant dish thingy to replace that dish, and the humidity is at 70%. I do spray water every so often.
And I would like to recommend you to ask questions about my enclosure before starting to assume all the bad things. Thank you.

It looks very dry and the enclosure looks very small and so is the water dish, all that I can see in the picture. The dryness may be the wood your using that it looks dry too me. The dish as you know is too small and I can see the enclosure also is too small.
What are you reading temp and humidity with? The disc type ones are not reliable and it must be placed/read at tort level incase your not, many put it too high which will not read the area the tort is actually occupying.
I probably shouldn't have assumed it wasn't a closed chamber but when a few things are wrong right off the bat usually the open top enclosure is being used too.

You're right about the dish, that's why I'm planning on changing it, but I can't find the optimal one, I would like some suggestions. Temp is 27c cool side, 34-35c warm side, 37-38c basking spot. Humidity mentioned previously. I know you just assumed just for my sully's sake. Sorry I may have hot a bit mad. Anyway what size should the enclosure be?

Hi! They can be so messy. I had to change the soak water for mine three times yesterday and she projectile peed all over our shower curtain right before I put her in her water. I threw the shower curtain away.

The water dish is just the terra cotta saucer that goes under a potted plant. They have them at Walmart and any hardware or garden store.

As for enclosure size, 4’x8’ is the recommended size. You can start off a little smaller but then you’ll need to upgrade so it makes since to just start with the largest size so you don’t have to keep building or buying more. You can search the forum for closed chambers and get some ideas. Some people use the Christmas tree storage containers and you can connect two together.

I see you are in Hong Kong. I only got to spend half a night in a hotel there before flying out again. Wish I could have seen more of it.
Probably any place that sells plants would have one. I hope you can easily locate it. Good luck!

We adopted our daughter in China and our flights home took us to Hong Kong. The flights were about 10-12 hours apart. We went from the airport to the hotel. It was still dark when we had to get up the next morning to get back to the airport for our next flight. It felt like half a night because it was not a lot of sleep. The hotel was pretty.

Hope your short stay gave you good impression on HK.

Yes, the saucers that go under plants are the best water dishes. I would think any place that sells plants would sell them.
My concerns are for your tortoise to have the best possible and so you don't go thru the heartache of something bad happening. We both have the same good intentions just lousy at voicing it lol.
Depending on the size of your tort now, a 2x4 or 3x4 will last a while. But as mentioned if you do a 4x8 now can be divided into a 4x4 or so and enlarged as needed. All measurements in feet. Large Plastic storage tote boxes work well and are cheap and can be connected together for enlarging until your tort is ready to live outside 24/7 which is around 10 inches straight line.
