Has anyone else ever had a birthday party for their dog?
My hubby thinks I'm silly...hehe

Axle, my tri color Aussie will be one year old in 11 days. His birthday falls on a Saturday, so I just had to throw a party for him. :D

We sent out invitations and everything!! :p ...he has a lot of doggie friends.

I've made cute doggie treat bags with bows for the party favors and am totally decorating a party table just outside the dog park fence.
Axle even had a lil' photo shoot to make fun pictures for the party signage! LOL

We've had great luck with one particular dog park. Usually I avoid them nor do I recommend them to people who can't ID dog behavior but this one ususally has a fairly regular & ok crowd.

So, anyone else do this for their pup? or am I a lone weirdo.

I think that is too cool.. I love the idea but I could never pull it off with my dogs.. They are too country and would not know what to think of a dog park.. LOL!!

Wellll, your hub isn't too far off right! Lol.
I never have done a doggie party but I don't think it's crazy either. Just be sure to be prepared for doggie disputes and make sure all invited have had their shots and no parasites.
Have fun and share party pics.

I think is is adorable and fun to celebrate a dog’s birthday. We don’t but I’ve been to a doggie party. Honestly my human children are lucky if we get a party done for them.
My four year old has been picking a tortoise a day and celebrating his birthday. She just throws weeds in the enclosure and announces it his birthday.

Not a birthday party, but we used to host dog parties every year for our friends and thier dogs. It was a big hit. But my dogs are getting old and grumpy, and we have had to stop for a while. I'll se if i can find a pic or 2. We always had food for people and biscuits and water for dogs.

See, this is even better!!. If I had the property to host a dog party myself, I would. Then you'd KNOW all the dogs yours would encounter.
So neat!

Today, my hairy baby turned 1!! His party went great. Couldn't have turned out better.

It was a crisp 34°F today, so most of the general public stayed home, leaving the dog park all to ourselves.

Everyone that came in was an invited doggie. So, there were no unexpected surprises. Well, a few random folks did walk up, but they went ino the other fenced area and left us to enjoy our group. But we still shared the doggie treat bags with them!

All the dogs got along fine & for 2 hours they drained their energy while we humans stood in a close-ish huddle trying to keep warm. LOL

And a dozen or so friends!
