I was wondering what the next enclosure should be for my girl? She is 3 starting to put grow her current enclosure. Looking for advise for if she still needs a closed chamber and do you keep all the lighting the same and so on.

Thank you

At 3 you can do a humid hide. A closed chamber is not needed. the temps and lighting should remain the same.

Yes, screw it down. Even the plastic tote boxes are screwed into the side wall otherwise my leopards will move them around too. Be sure to give a good size enclosure. A 4x8 and then even larger when she gets around 10 inches or more then a summer outside enclosure.

Ok she is 9 inches long now. That’s going to be a large enclosure.

Yes, she will need a very large enclosure. Average bedroom size and if she is actually a female you will have to give her a nesting area too. Females get larger then males usually. A 12x10 portable greenhouse is what I used for mine in the winter and placed it in the basement. During summer they had a huge yard and shed to go into. Much harder keeping females then males in my opinion. Having to provide nesting spots and hope they will use them and not become egg bound. That's the reason I sold my females and kept only my males.

I was really hoping for a male, we have huge turkey Vultures in our back yard. I am scared to put her out there, we sit on a lot of land. I was hoping maybe my husband would build me something. I will talk to him tonight about redoing her enclosure. Thank you for your info.

I have a 3 1/2 year old the same 9" size and about 5 lbs. Here's what he looks like in his 4' x 6' table as you can see there's not that much room as he grows.

He's doing great in an open table with a humid hide. However, it looks like I'm going to have the same problem needing a bigger table soon.

This is my set up when I first built it, my husband came up with a great idea for the next one to optimize space.
