Hello my name is Margi and I live in Wales UK. I have a Leopard called Tilly. I have had her nearly eight years and she has done well up until 2 or 3 weeks ago. She is 13yrs old in May and weighs 7kg and then I noticed she was not herself. She doesn’t want to come out to look for food or drink and the only way she will eat is if I bring her to it, as for drinking this is a no no at the moment and I don’t know why ........ it is so frustrating. I am soaking her mostly morning and night she is eating well and pooing well now. I think she did have compacted poo, goodness knows why as she has never before had a problem. Ive taken her to a Reptile specialist Vet she had X ray and had her poo tested both Fine and Clear..... Please can someone help me as I am now at a loss and don’ t know what to do for her, I don’t like seeing her like this..... HELP please

Welcome and Greetings!

How are your temperatures? Anything change in the enclosure to impact overall ambient and night/day temperatures?

Id continue nice long warm water soakings. Check the temps, and lighting.

Best of luck

Hi, Thank You.
Daytime temp is as minimum of 32 and night time temp is 20/22 her heat lamp is on the right where she mostly lies and the door is always Open on left so cooler on that side. I have door flap which allows her to come in and out whenever she wants too and usually she does go in and out of there has a walk around and goes back in if not going in garden. No
Her bed is in her shed which she has the freedom to roam when she wants to, except when she is locked up when I’m going to bed, last thing, Temp dropped, and opened up first thing,,,,,,, Temp up. Enclosure is 12Lx6xWx15High her bed is 3x6x3.6 with a strip light (Repti Glo 10.0 UBV) 42inch and ceramic heat. She eats weeds I collect and spring greens and pre alpin Testudo which she loves, now and again a cherry tomato or a strawberry or a little cucumber and of course grass but not interested in grass at the moment.

Thank You
Margi

Has she hibernated ? Sounds like how one would act after coming out of hibernation which goes back to normal after a week or so

Hi and thank you for replying..... No she doesn’t hibernate as she is a Leopard, I just Don’t Get It. Normally she would be waiting to come out and would normally Want to go in the garden so I’m just Baffled and Worried about her. If I bring her out she just goes to hide ...

You seem to be doing all of the right things maybe she’s just put off by the cold weather but I can’t see why after 13years she’d act differently:/

You could try switching up her food that might interest her ?

How bizarre ! I guess it must be a phase if her health seems to be ok

I can imagine the frustration with not having an explanation to her behaviour

Hi,
I have checked the temp and lite all seem ok, light is only about 6months old now so due for renewal in 3months. I did go away and leave her for a few days and its all started when I came back home, that’s when I noticed her not being the usual.......
