New Hermanns Owner from UK

Me and my kids just got a long-awaited hermanns tortoise. I'm in love . Still nameless, and just a baby - not even a year old. Had its first bath today. We're excited about learning more

I'm excited for you! I've been wanting to get one for some time and am so happy now Des is with us (not definite on the name yet
... ). The kids are loving having a new member of the family too!

I'm trying not to turn into Mrs silver from esio trot but already stressing that Des isn't eating enough :/ (we're on day 3).
How's flash getting on with that? I'm thinking of getting seeds so we can go homegrown
...?

Flash ate little when we first got him in the end of August last year
I just thought it was the stress of moving but he soon picked up
We feed him cress, rocket, round lettuce, spinach and kale

My kids are all allergic to animal fur and dust so a tortoise was the perfect choice

I obsess over him more than them [emoji23]

We live in the north east of England
Kinda cold most of the time so he is in a vivarium [emoji4]

I was thinking of ordering some seeds n planting my own too!!!

Hope he starts eating xxx

Thanks, that's reassuring! On the eating front and the obsession front! We're outer London so a bit warmer I guess.
I bought some seeds, I'll let you know how we get on with that....

Great! We used to have a garden with loads of wild dandelion but my hubby n kids have hay fever so had to concreted over [emoji17]
So bought some planters and want to try growing some in there [emoji4]
Wonder how quick they would grow? [emoji848]
