Hey everyone :)

Hello my name is Celina. I'm 18 years old and live in Cologne, Germany.
I decided it is time for a pet (my first pet ever) and i think a tortoise would suit me.
However I have no real experience in any animal stuff the only thing I know is that tortoises are super cute [emoji14]
But before I'm getting a pet in a heartbeat I want to make sure I know enough to provide him or her with the best care and life possible. I got a lot of contradictory information from the internet and books. Now I'm not sure what info I should follow...
I also want to buy and setup everything right before I get a tortoise.
I think the best tortoise for me would probably be a Russian or Greek.
I have a garden for the summer and if the information is correct I could "hibernate" my tortoise during the colder months here in Germany. Any help and suggestions is welcomed.

Welcome Celina, doing your homework first will be beneficial for you and your tort. The info here is up to date. Many members here breed and raise different species. They have been doing it for years. Stick with the info here and you won't get confused by reading outdated info elsewhere.
