I had my leopard for 1 year now and he is just 31 grams he is not growing either. I am concerned with the tortoise Failure syndrome and he might have it.1550892465242.jpeg1550892450811.jpeg1550892432191.jpeg

Honestly I wouldn’t be too concerned. Just as long as he is getting the right amount of calcium and light exposure. I don’t have experience with leopards but my Florida Box Turtle took awhile to notice any significant growth

Greetings.

I see that you just recently joined the Forum.

If you can take some pictures of your tort’s enclosure so folks can see the size, lights, substrate. Tell us what temperatures you have for basking, ambient, etc. show us your torts humid hide and watering dish. How often do you give your little guy a good long soak in warm water? What do you feed daily?

Describe all of these things and more help can be put out here for you. Of course, the care sheets are top notch as well.

Good luck n Happy Torting

I also scatter big chunks of greens around the encloser so he like finds it and eats and has a bit of fun

Low sided sweater boxes are the worst possible way to house this warmth loving species. There is no way to maintain the proper warm humid conditions in something like that. Please give these a read through:

This one says its for sulcatas, but the food list is good if you scroll down past the text:

Most breeders don't start this species correctly. Much too dry. Where did you get yours? Do you know how it was started?

I am using 16 watt uvb and 65 watt basking bulp. I also let in a lot of natural uvb from the window so that's why I have 16 watt uvb

Ok, uvb from a window does no good. The uvb will not pass through the glass, screen, or plasti. A 16watt uvb build does not sound right. The best thing for uvb is a long tube Florence this uvb. Please read the care sheets. There are many changes needed for your baby to thrive. Come back with any questions.

CFL type bulbs are noteffetive UV sources and they are potentially dangerous to their eyes. They should not be used. If you need indoor UV, the newer HO type bulbs are the best.

Light through a window offers ZERO UV. The glass filters out all the UV. This can also over heat them, so be careful with that.
