The family and I are getting getting ready to list our house and have been looking for our new home. Are house is ready to list. we are just waiting for our box turtles to wake up from hibernation. Our realtor highly suggested removing our turtle pens before we list. Luckily my parents where fine with me building a pen at their house until we find our new place. I don’t have any other choices but I’m slightly concerned that relocating them so soon after hibernating could be harmful. They should be popping up in the next few weeks. Here is the construction of the new pen I’ll do the finishing work and pond this week.

going into and just coming out of hibernation are thought to be two of the best times to relocate or release them ………… they are near the surface at this time of year , just dig them out , take them to the new spot and re-bury them in pile of leaves ,grass and sticks , in a proper location ……. I believe it is less stressful than when they are active ……….

Everybody looks great after a long winter. Every turtle has come up and wondered around a bit but still mostly staying hidden.

Been warm lately and the pen growth took off. Everybody is healthy and active. our house sold quick so we are still aggressively looking for a new house with room for the turtles. Here are a few piks of the lucky few I could locate who all got some worms.
