Hello, this is Bob the Russian tortoise and my new best buddy! He lives with my parents since we found him in a car park behind my apartment a few weekends ago. We've been told he's around 2-3 years old, but upon further research online, it sounds like with Russians it's quite hard to tell. We love him regardless!

This forum has been a great resource for us, especially as we had to find out a whole lot of information quite quickly. So thanks from us on Bob's behalf!

Hi Holly welcome to you and Bob.
I'm in South Wales and have a leopard tort called Lola.
I had a steep learning curve because Lola was an unclaimed lost soul too. I tried to find his owners and checked to see if he was microchipped but no luck so he adopted me.
This forum has been invaluable with all its up to date information and advice available from experienced keepers world wide.
If you've found the Russian caressheet you'll have had a good start re diet, temps, substrate etc but ask as many questions as you like there's usually someone around to help.
The Beginners Mistake thread is good for avoiding problems experienced by others, and the Enclosures thread has lots of great ideas.
www.thetortoisetable.org.uk is a good guide for safe foods.
Hope that helps and will look forward to seeing more pics of Bob.

Thanks all! My mum loves the tortoise table website. Yes we did the same thing, he’s not chipped either. It was such a panic at first to find out what he was, what he could eat, whether he needed certain temperatures etc. But now he’s no trouble at all and we’ve become quite attached! I’ll have a look at those threads, thanks very much!
