Power feeding before his flight this evening. After all these months I've finally settled on a name. I had been calling him Little T, but wanted something a little more original. Honestly, I didn't think he was going to make it, so I hadn't put much effort into the name game. I found a list of African names and decided on Sengo (sehn-goh) which is Ugandan for leopard. So, little Sengo is off to California to spend the summer with @Yvonne G while I go to Cape Cod to work my butt off.

Sengo's very pretty. You've done a great job with him. I'll be looking forward to seeing the FedEx truck park in front of my house tomorrow!!!!

Thank you, and I'll be relieved when you see that truck! LOL And even more after you open the box and we know he's traveled well. Thanks again for being his caregiver

Sengo has arrived!!! He's a bit on the cool side, but he'll warm up in no time. And, WHAT A PRETTY TORTOISE!!!

Yay!! Relieved to see he's no worse for the wear.

Yeah, I lucked out with his looks. I had no idea he was going to have so much white. I look forward to seeing him blossom even more under your care. Can't thank you enough.

An update on Sengo (but I call him Chasen because I can't remember Sengo):

Chase's tortoise sengo 6-24-19.jpg

I've recently added 12 newly hatched leopard babies in with him. He's doing very well, has a real good appetite. My main concern is that he won't be as smooth when he goes home as he was when he was entrusted to me, but so far he's still very smooth!

I like the name Sengo. It's authentic! And he looks really good. Glad Yvonne got to care for him.

That is so cool. How long can you keep them all together?

Sengo is still doing well, and still growing smoothly, but He's losing that pretty white part of the carapace:

The babies originally referred to above evolved into 24, which Will took home to sell on July 27th. Chasen now lives with six newly hatched leopard babies that will stay with him until October sometime.

I can't believe how much Sengo has grown since that last picture. Here he is this a.m. He has a nice white growth seam:

And he's still smooth. My biggest worry was Chase would come to get him and he'd be bumpy.
