Hello all, I have recently purchased a Burmese star tortoise and can’t seem to find evidence that he is pooping or producing urinates. About the tort: he/she is 2 months old, I have created habitat using reptibark and organic soil. He has a basking area with a rock to climb, the lower basking area reaches 94 degrees, the top of the rock reaches around 100. The shaded part where his house is is around 75 degrees outside of the house and 73 inside where I have placed moistened spag moss. I have separate dishes for food and water, he is getting daily soaks for 30 min with sprays during the day time. I have recently ordered a humidifier to better humidify his open environment as it seems to dry out rather quickly. I live in southern Florida ( St Pete) where the humidity is on the higher side anyway. I am feeding the little tort organic produce of book choy leaves, red dandilion, and sprinkling it with tortoise herb and flower dry mix. He has a calcium block in his habitat as well. OK to my problem, during his daily soaks I can’t find evidence of poops or pee. I’ve also scoured the habitat looking for evidence but can’t seem to find it there either (admiringly it would be difficult to spot as it would blend in) my question is how am I to know? He is eating fine, and will eat as much as I put out....and appears to be drinking during soaks.

Also, does anyone know where to purchase large enclosed habitats? I’d like to try to control humidity to a greater extent. Also, at what age can you confirm it is male or female? [emoji16]

Welcome look around his mouth. If he has a black ring around the mouth. He is probably a poop eater.
