I've always talked about how I use Cypress mulch and nobody's indicated that's bad to me, and I see it recommended for them since it retains moisture. But now people on facebook are INSISTING it's toxic. Is it?

Don't listen to the people on FB. We've been over this in the forum lol. I got kicked out of a few groups for saying it's not lol. It's fine I use it, many people use it. What's toxic is those FB groups.

I JUST saw the relevant thread right after posting this haha. I figured the FB groups weren't worth a whole lot, lots of people also insisting torts need buddies or they'll get depressed. But I was panicking for a second there!

Yes.
I use it also it and have for decades.
I do recommend doing an inspection while you pour out the mulch from the bag as I have occasionally found foreign stuff like plastic and metal in it.
Otherwise its harmless

I use cypress mulch with my redfoot ... the FB groups are little kingdom's of ignorant and angry people who mostly shout the same incorrect and faster information back and forth at each other.

I’ve always used cypress mulch for my Russian’s, never had an issue.

Sometimes people confuse cypress mulch with cedar mulch. Name is similar and when they are shredded to pieces, they also look similar.

After a discussion with a person on FB who said OSHA had classified cypress mulch as an irritant I did a little research. OSHA did classify it as an irritant During the Manufacture because of the dust created. It is extremely dusty only when they are grinding it up. The people on FB instantly classified it as dangerous to torts. OSHA just recomends wearing a dust mask when grinding it up. The people on FB are idiots.
