I'm new to tortoise world, I had 9 (5 yellow footed & 4 red footed) when i was a kid but as an adult its different. So my name is Maria, i lives in Venezuela in an apartment. My new tortoise is young. I don't have it yet because long story short my neighbor's sister gave him the tortoise but he have 2 dogs and he is scared they might hurt it. But he promised his sister to keep it and she is coming back to say bye, after she says bye to the tortoise i will bring it home. The tortoise s/he already learned it's name. Enriquette but i will try to change it to Ketta or Kette. I think its a yellow footed but not 100% sure of the specie.
So he called me and at first i had said no because of the salmonella but he told me the tortoise has grown up with 3 young kids and none of them got sick at all... and my mom is just in love with the torts O.O which is amazing because she is not a person of wanting to have an animal (that's me usually).
Also i have a lovebird she is 8 years old and is my baby girl. I'm much more familiar with birds than reptiles.
