Happy Fathers day to any other step dads here on the forum.
It's a position with lots of heartache and little thanks.
Usually culminating with a gift or a meal purchased by yourself.
Stepdads.....Good ones.... Are very important. But are mostly taken for granted.
We are full time volunteers.
But our love is real.

Awwww!!!! Ed! I’m so sorry! And HAPPY FATHER’s DAY TO YOU AND ALL the devoted step dads out there. Yes, raising kids can be a thankless job. Whether they carry your DNA doesn’t really matter when a dad is drunk or high all the time and doesn’t notice there is a little human growing that he is supposed to be teaching how to live as an adult one day. Also all the deadbeat dad’s out there who refuse to acknowledge new lives created and take responsibility. And those dads who don’t care to control their impulses and hurt or kill their children in unprovoked rage... so I don’t hesitate even for split second to wish a HAPPY DADDY’s DAY! to ALL of you guys who raise, mentor, love, role model our next generation, those who are The Hero for your little Girls and those whose boys look up to you every day for answers, sense of security, validation, learning “the right way”, the one with the answers to all important questions. So many dads became dads not by “choice” but rather as a “consequence”. You Guys- Step Dads, became Fathers by “CHOICE” and most kids you chose to raise will at some point start appreciating it eventually as they grow and mature. In the thanklessness of your job raising your “chosen” kids, just try to remember the legacy you bestow upon those kids. They will eventually realize what a Gift you have been to them in their in their lives. The true Fatherhood is often confused with donation of sperm. It’s all of you Guys, who stick around through thick and thin, through kids’ messy teen years, or sudden or chronic illness, disability, life changing events that so many others just couldn’t handle and split, while you guys- the StepDads stuck around and always came through for those kids. My wish to you All DADS out there is to receive many blessings for being DADS! You guys are our HEROES and we love you and always will[emoji173]️
