Part of my group snacking. I have 8 Hermanni living together in relative harmony, 5 females and 3 males.20190619_104147.jpeg

Nice. The secret is more than two. And I presume they're outside? That makes a difference too.

Nice.

What size is the enclosure? I'd love to have a group like that someday.

I like the idea of a big group of tortoises but it doesn’t always work sometimes. It depends on the tort I guess. Nice looking torts by the way.

What do you do with them over winter? Do you hibernate? If not, what size is there indoor enclosure? Curious about how you are making it all work.

Do you get babies?

Yes I hibernate and yes I've had eggs and babies, though I've had incubation issues.

I wasn't planning on more than 3 Hermann's torts, but I rescued 2, and bought a sick one that I felt sorry for (I know that's stupid) and then I needed to balance out the sex ratio.

I have collapsible 8'x4' enclosures I can use as needed as well as a few kiddy pools if I need to temporarily house inside/seperate.

Sounds and looks good! I noticed you said "relative" harmony. So you do have occasional issues?
