I’ve notice a lot of people do not remove all of the soil from plants that they get from stores to plant it in organic soil. They also don’t wait 6 months for everything to get out of the plants system. I usually go the safe route but that is a lot of waiting and usually kill the plant. So my question is, do I need to shake all of the non organic soil off and replace it with organic? Also do I need to wait 6 months to a year?
Thanks

Yes.
Unless you are sure that no systemic pesticides have been used.
Then, any new growth should be safe aside from the flowers and leaves on the plant when you acquired it, that likely got surface sprayed only.
Otherwise re pot and wait it out. Six months.
Be safe.

Where my wife and I play tennis there are banks of weeds and wildflowers BUT they are next to the public GOLF course. A GOLF course equals a mind boggling amount of chemicals- just check out the color of the ponds. So no bringing home of snacks for my Tortie

Once I read up on systemic pesticides I started shaking when repotting.
