This is just crushing news!
~Thank you, actually after Friday there may be a chance, working on it t his week. It may be expensive, however i am trying to move forward and try to get things approved. This property is so unique and simply would be excellent for the new location of ALDABRAMAN. I'll keep updates as things progress, etc.

~ Took a few pictures last Friday after meeting with contractors, etc.

Greg, I am delighted to hear that there may be a chance! ! What an idyllic place.

In pic # 2, would the herd have all that space to graze? And you would need to build a house for yourselves too?

Regardless the reason, permitting has become so nit-picking, political, and bogged down! Pete and I decided to put 22 solar panels on our roof. When Pete died, I decided to go ahead with the project. The contractor said the permitting would be complete in 2-3 weeks. I'm still waiting, and we're coming up on 4 months!

And I'm in rural SoCal, one of the sunniest places in the USA. Permitting should be easy here.

~ Yes, my plans are to build a three story main dwelling, guest house and large shop that has an incubator room. Hopefully two main pastures and many smaller ones for several other projects, etc. The permitting process, etc. is complex and complicated, because it is in the city, county and on a river. Because all of these entities have special rules, ordinances, codes, etc. that do not see to coincide with each other. Anyway, the process continues.........I am not the type to give up and if it is possible i will achieve it. My biggest issue so far is the fencing!

I, and many others on TFO, are cheering you on!

I think you need to invite the members of the code authorities to come meet Cowboy. He'll win them over! Then have them meet the biggest one, the one over 500 lbs. Maybe they will understand why you need your fencing the way you want it.

~ At the last meeting with them i showed them, they were intrigued, however did not waver the position the city ordinances have in place.

@ALDABRAMAN , i intrigued by the zoning problems you are having, can you share more about the ordinance? I am an architect and deal with zoning issues everyday and having to find architectural and functional solutions that meet zoning are often very interesting. You mentioned the fence issue. Is an issue of fence height, or level of opacity, or materials used, or extent of fencing? or several of those issues? just curious!

~ Basically it has to do with set backs and height restriction. I want a CBS wall! IMG_4982.JPG
