Tortoise identification help PLEASE!

Hello!
I recently got a tortoise from a friend who rescued it, and I am hoping someone can tell me what kind of tortoise it is so I can give it the best possible care, and also if you can help identify the gender that would be great also!

Males are smaller and have a much longer tail with a "/" slit cloaca and a spur on the tip of the tail. Females have a short stub tail and a "*" puckered cloaca.

The tortoise is too big and tail is too small to be a male. I also have a female that size with a tail that looks the exact same.

Here is a picture of my largest female Russian (left) next to my largest male Russian (right). If you look at their tails, you'll see the female has a short tail with a puckered cloaca. The male's tail is much longer and often tucked in to the side.

Based on the overall large size of the OP's tortoise, and its small tail with a puckered cloaca, their tortoise is, without a doubt, a female.

Hmmm. Perhaps correct. However comparing the "v" of the anal scutes and not being able to see if the super caudal curves down like in the other pictures of males I'm still not completely convinced.
