So I posted on here a couple weeks ago asking some questions about my sulcatas enclosure. Was advised by Tom that it was way to small, so I have had another one made. I'm hoping that this will be suitable to get her thru this year and I can work on a larger one next summer. I still need some advise as to where I should place her lights, which lights to get. I will post pics of her current set up (10gal tank) and the new one (measures 48" × 42" x 20") she will be going into as soon as I get everything I need added to it. Please let me know what you think. I was never expecting to have a tortoise and just want to take care of her properly. I have put alot of money into her so far and feel like I'm not getting far.... I currently have her using both a day and a night time light though you can only see one in the picture. I swap them out every morning night. Also is her diet okay...I currently give her a chopped up mixture that contains grass from my yard, wheat grass I'm growing indoors, grape vine leaves from my yard, romaine, and Kale. I feed her this daily. I have also given her a small piece of yellow squash once. I was told she was 6 months old however I don't know for sure as I was told alot of things that seem to be wrong. 20190809_170756.jpg

They do not and should not have a light on at night. Use a florescent tube light for uvb and a radiant heat panel or 1 to 2 che (ceramic heat emitter) for heat. Get a rheostat to out the heat elements on ao it will control the temp. Use a regular 60 watt incandescent bulb for basking.
The new home is beautiful good job. It is expensive in the beginning but once all is bought and correct the cost declines greatly. I would add as much as possible of good foods to the diet but so far its sounding good. Feed squash sparingly if at all.

I wouldn't buy that kind of fixture and if you can return that one I would suggest it. You can get cheaper ones at home depot and hardware stores. They just need a ceramic/porcelain socket. Even Walmart sometimes sells them.

Are you meaning the dome fixture? And she doesnt have a light on at night. It is a 60watt "Nightime Incandescent heat bulb"

The double dome fixture is what I'm referring to. Two side by side like the double offers is pretty useless.
I don't know what you are talking about when you say a 60 watt incandescent night time bulb. Any incandescent that I know of day or night lights up. No red blue black or white light should be on at night. A ceramic heat emitter is best at night. It gives off heat and zero light.

I use a normal GE that I just leave the plastic light cover off of. It was like $18 on Amazon the reptile branded ones are expensive
