Got my females out of my basement this year with a tuff shed/tortoise barn build. We fully insulated it, and wired it for electricity. It is 10 X12 with 3 tortoise doors. I am using an oil filled radiant heater for ambient temp. They have multiple Kane mats, and a radiant heat panel under the shelf. That area is divided into 2 separate night areas. They have a couple of basking areas. I keep 5 females in this barn, and plan to add a greenhouse area outside one of the doors in the future to lengthen the outside time in my northern climate. I will also add ramps to get to the top of the shelf, and a nesting area, but have not figured out exactly how I want to do it yet.

How nice!!! I like the cinder blocks around the saucer. You’ve just solved one of my problems in my night box! Thanks! You’ve got great tortoises and it’s obvious you care for them well!

And the first day, Scarlett busted out the back. I suppose I knew she would, or one of them would, but I was hopeful. SMH It is now surrounded by bricks in the back, and plywood on the door side.
