Wow, I thought I was the only one that had lousy delivery services. Luckily I have not had any animals shipped in a long time. However, other packages from all three, UPS, FEDEX, and USPS all lazy, can't reach up to push the door bell, terrible service. Unfortunately, those are our choices of shippers

Have you ever heard of laser ship? They deliver packages in there own personal car at all hours.. Had a package delivered at 1am..then driver couldn't start his car...watched that foolishness on my camera.. Finaly went out and jump started his car...lol

I recently purchased a Leo from the Arizona Tortoise compound. I see the FedEx truck pull up and the guy grabs the box out of the back and is tossing it up and down playfully as he walks towards me and as he steps up to my door he drops the box. It said live animal all over the box! I was irate, luckily they grow them strong at the compound ;-)

Old thread.
Same kind of crap.
I avoid FedEx. I pay a little extra on shipping sometimes so that I can not have to deal with them.
But last week.....I bought wheels and tires for my truck. They only ship Fedex.
The sale went perfectly. A confirmation Email that my order was ready. That it was sent. Then tracking information from Fedex.
FedEx showed that my parcel would arrive Friday by end of day. Great.
I spend the day at home looking for a delivery. It's a very large parcel.
Friday the bundle never arrived. I checked the tracking again. Now, without explanation, it says it will arrive on MONDAY. By end of day.
Today is Saturday.
Just for fun..actually I don't find it funny...I checked on it again. Now it shows that it will arrive on TUESDAY by end of day.
So the delivery date has now jumped to 5 days later. Four business days. In one day and without any explanation other than that old, familiar FedEx incompetence!
I know that in the past, they've blamed delays on "bad weather" and such. When no such bad weather exists. And NO OTHER carrier uses excuses. They just deliver when they say that they will.
This company is a joke and needs to go out of business.
Hopefully when my parcel finally makes it's way to my zip code, it will actually arrive at my correct address.
I may be back with yet another story of Fedex.
Oh, and four the record. The score is FEDEX 5 out of 6 FAILS!

If you haven't already, I'd also sign up for their online service. It notifies you anytime a package with your address enters their system, and allows you to track the package. If there's a delay, etc, it may help you find out sooner.

FedEx Delivery Manager
Except that they routinely change the dates. So they might as well take down the tracking site.

I find the fact that they don't differentiate between dry goods and animal unexceptable .. I understand things happen. I have 8-10 packages delivered a week. UPS has always made there commitment. FedEx last 5 priority before 12pm shipments have all arrived late...4 because either late arrival at hub or mechanical issues. Today I was informed by the manager at the Hub that bike week in Daytona has caused delay not the weather in Memphis..It's not like bike week is something new..I would have thought they had some plan in place to deal with the crowds...I have a freind that works for FedEx and another that works for UPS...The UPS friend tells me..there told deliver all time sensitive deliveries before doing anything else... I'm told Fedex drivers are told to follow there outlined route... I just received the package... It's 83*F here today...the temp in the insulated box 52*F That Tells me the animal was left out in the cold in Memphis ...
I find it amusing that FedEx usually offers some feeble excuse why they've let you down. But without an apology. With such an alarming regularity.
UPS and USPS simply deliver on time. Almost every single time. Few issues in hundreds of dealings with them.

Puppies Allegedly Dog-Napped By FedEx Driver Are Home Again
https://www.aol.com/2015/01/09/fedex-driver-stole-puppies/
The surveillance video shows a FedEx driver snatching up the first dog, Sheila, and putting her in his truck, KTRK reported. As the driver goes to grab the second dog, Bruno, Sheila escaped from the truck, but the driver caught her again and eventually left with both dogs, the station said.

"Once we seen them on the video we were like, I can't believe it," Erica Correa told KTRK. "We are supposed to trust these people to deliver packages and they are stealing our dogs."

The story had a happy ending for the Correas after a stranger found the dogs together on a neighborhood street about 30 miles from the family’s home.

The stranger, who was not identified, took the dogs to a veterinary clinic where someone recognized the dogs from the KTRK newscast.

We’ve had a few packages delayed like this, AND even the tracking information was just plain wrong. When we called, the representative said “well, the system automatically provides updates” of the container that your package SHOULD have been on. Doesn't necessarily scan your package.

Good luck, fingers crossed for a safe delivery.

The are the coiled, compact light of the florescent UV world.

Gotta agree with you; FedEx seems more problematic than either USPS or UPS. UPS delivers more than twice as many packages as FedEx and seems to have a better logistical handle on things. Of course, a lot of it depends on your "last mile" driver - is he/her a longtime employee trying to do a good job and make it to retirement? Or is it somebody just driving a truck until something better comes along?

Last night, my boyfriend told me that our friends military trained siezure dog was run over by the mailman, and that they refuse to pay for a new service dog.

When I was waiting on my baby tort, Fed-Ex tracking said "Tuesday by 10:30." After 10:30 passed, it just said "Tuesday." I about had a heart attack since I had to work later that day (thankfully he arrived with enough time to soak and feed).

I find it weird because on the highway, they're swerving and cutting off people like they're in a death race.

My wheels arrived today.
The date FEDEX originally said they'd arrive, but changed the date....Without ever changing it back.
So if I had taken time off of work tomorrow to get my delivery and I worked today, that crap would've sat on my porch all day long.....
I'm just thankful that it came to the right address.
The driver was friendly.

I would not ship live animals UPS as THEY DO NOT HAVE air conditioning in their delivery trucks. ON a warm day it is a beast-that is per Chenelle my UPS driver. When she retires I will be done with UPS. Now USPS that is a special bunch of stupid. 1. Since my mailbox is at the edge of my property at the sidewalk I routinely get my nearest neighbors mail for me to destribute. 2. TRACKING-what tracking don't waste your time/money. 3. I know the numbers are the same BUT not the street not my mail.

All three: UPS, USPS, & FedEx trucks that pass through my neighborhood appear un-airconditioned, with side sliding doors always open even when it's over 100. The delivery men/women are usually glowing with perspiration. The only comfortable delivery person(s) are the plethora of Amazon drivers in their ubiquitous white vans going up and down the streets with their doors and windows always tightly closed. Maybe Bezos could tack-on reptile delivery...
