I had been using a cream on my Desert Tortoise to help with any needed vitamins while he slept during Hibernation. I would put the cream on before putting him down for the winter and again when he came out of hibernation in the spring. For some reason the company that made this no longer offers it. This cream was to revitalize dry, brittle or cracked shells and skin. Anyone have any ideas on what can be used as a replacement for the cream that is no longer on the marker.

Ingredients of VitaShell:
Purified softened water, sunflower oil, emulsifying wax NF, cetyl alcohol, coconut oil, palm oil, soybean oil, olive oil, glycerin, lanolin, cottonseed oil, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine lactate, protein conditioners, diazolidinyl urea, rosemary oil, methylparaben, propylparaben, FD and C yellow #6

I make my own version using better (and less, which I also think is better) ingredients: coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, and a tiny bit of tea-tree oil.

I use it on all of my tortoises once a week... I don't think it's necessary, but neither does it hurt anything, and it's a part of the process by which I examine them on a weekly basis, and it makes them look nice.
