I made a roasted/stuffed pumpkin for my human family last night for dinner, and as a result had a large quantity of pumpkin guts... I froze most of them and fed the rest to my four tortoises (a Redfoot, a Russian, an MEP, and a Homes Hingeback).

They had all nibbled at them, almost as soon as I put the food down, but I was most shocked by the Hingeback... he'd cleaned up every bit (although he left the seeds, which I could hear the Redfoot crunching this morning while I was writing).

We have a mass pumpkin carving at my house every year just before halloween. My tortoises eat pumpkin guts, chunks and scrapings mixed with other stuff like hay, for days after this annual event. All of them eat it.

Sometimes when our winter rains come, pumpkin vines will spot up in the pens where the tortoises pooped the seeds out. These vines are quickly eaten.

My redfoots love pumpkin and the leaves, seeds and the flowers.

I go to the pumpkin patch the day after Halloween every year and buy a truckload of pumpkins (they sell them cheap) and split them with my neighbor who raises pigs. All of my tortoises seem to love pumpkin as an annual treat
