Littlefoot is now 23cm! I think that's 9 inches?
Hes growing very fast! :)
Since I got 2 basking areas I decided to put his water dish directly under one of the bulbs and he seems to like it.
He self soaks everyday for a few hours additionally to the 30 minute soaks i do everyday with him.
Tomorrow I'm buying him a bigger terra cotta dish! :<3::tort:20200102_235410.jpg

I just got a baby’s sulcata( couple months old) and I want to make sure it’s healthy because I’m scared I’m doing things wrong

@Sulcatatortoise101 if you have any questions ask on the sulcata section. check pinned threads for useful caring information that some members here have gathered over the years. From your pictures i see multiple things wrong. Wood chips do not make good substrate, cypress mulch would be a good thing to get instead. The tank is much too small, a minimum of a 40 gal is recommended. The tank also looks very dry, once you get a different substrate, make sure its very damp (80% humidity is recommended, a dry enviroment leads to pyramiding and over all poor health). Your tortoise should also have a water dish big enough to soak in at all times, as well as cuddle bone. What lamp are you using? Also, what are you feeding him? He should be getting mostly grass. Finally, he should be getting soaked daily. Welcome to the forum by the way! We are here to help.

I got the mulch at the place where we got him( Miami reptile) we basically got every thing that he has from there and they said he should be fine and not to go above 75. I am also soaking him 2 times a day but I just got him yesterday image.jpgimage.jpg

By lamp i mean what type of bulb. Also, how big is the tank. Again, it looks much to small in your photos. Once again, that substrate is not good. The ambient temp should be around 80, the basking spot should be 100. With small tanks, you cannot creat microclimates, and therefore you tort cannot thermo regulate. Dont trust what the seller told you, he doesnt sound very credible
